Information for Researchers Regarding Researchfish Sunsetting

After careful consideration, Elsevier have made the difficult decision to sunset Researchfish on July 31st 2027, when the product will no longer be available. This does not affect any current data collection exercises/submission periods, or any that funders wish to run between now and the sunset date. Researchfish will remain fully operational and supported until July 31st, 2027, and during this time users will continue to receive the same high level of service and support.

More information is available in the FAQs below.

If you have any questions regarding your Researchfish account please contact support@researchfish.com.

If you have questions regarding reporting requirements for your award including future data collection exercises please contact your funder (if they have provided contact information for us to share it is available here).

Q: When will the sunsetting process be completed?
A: We expect to complete the sunsetting process by July 31, 2027, honouring all existing customer contracts until then.

Q: Will Researchfish remain operational and supported until the sunset date?
A: Yes, the product will remain fully operational and supported until July 31, 2027. Funders can continue to run data collection exercises, after which we will begin to offboard customers and users to ensure a smooth and thorough transition by the end of July 2027.

Q: What happens to our historical data? How do we export it?
A: All researchers have constant access to their data in the platform and can download/save this at any time. Researchers can refer to the PI User guide for guidance on how to download data from Researchfish. Please see the ‘Download an Award’ section for instructions on how to download individual award, outcome and additional question data, and the ‘Personal Portfolio’ section for instructions for downloading Personal Portfolio data.

Q: Do I need to request for my account and personal data to be deleted?
A: No, all information will be deleted as part of the sunsetting process. You do not need to raise a special request to ensure this, though you may want to download any data before July 2027.

A: The data in Researchfish will be deleted 12 months after the end of each funders’ contract OR by the sunset date (31st July 2027) – whichever comes sooner. Information previously reported to funders may continue to be used by them, including anything previously put into the public domain.
